LAYING INSTRUCTIONS FOR TAKPAVE
- Shot blast the laying area and remove any loose material. NOTE: Only prepare surface area sufficient for that day’s
installation.
- Mark out path for exact width of tile.
- Thoroughly wipe underside of each tile, using the primer provided, with clean cloth. Allow 3 to 4 minutes for tile to dry.
- Neoprene gloves must be used for this application. NOTE: Do not stack tiles to dry or at any time when primed.
- Empty Epoxide Resin into Epoxide Hardener container then thoroughly mix for several minutes with a metal rod.
- Ensure even colour mix throughout container.
- Apply mixed adhesive to pre-marked area then carefully and evenly spread adhesive, using a spreading comb.
- NOTE: Do not spread adhesive beyond the surface width.
- Within 15 minutes of applying adhesive, carefully place pre-primed tile onto adhesive and apply even pressure from
centre of tile outwards.
- NOTE: Take care in positioning first tile correctly in order that subsequent tiles butt and form a straight path, forming
correct pattern match. Having laid approximately 10 tiles, ensure that tile edges have not lifted, then place suitable
sand filled plastic or woven bag on each tile. Distribute sand filled bag evenly over tile. NOTE: Sand bags should be
minimum of 18’’ x 18’’ with a weight of 10kgs (22lbs) minimum.
- Sand bags may be removed after 6 hours provided temperatures are not below 20° (68°F). At lower temperatures
remove sand bags the following day.
