INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR SITECOP

These instructions are for the use of those who wish to lay Sitecop using their own labour force.
(Schedule of Tools required is listed at left)

Marking and Setting Out

  • Ensure that no drains, hydrants or service outlets will be covered.
  • Work out gap width between kerb and the end cap. Advised width is 200mm. Mark out in chalk on road surface, the edge line.
  • Position the end cap from the edge line and lay out the scaffold pole (not provided by Rediweld) with 45mm of its end under
    the end cap.
  • Position the other modules and end cap along the pole, crossing the road. Mark and remove the pole, then cut to length. If
there is a severe camber it may be necessary to cut into 2 or 3 lengths.
  • Replace end caps, modules and pole and check that the alignment is straight with a plumb line.

Securing Modules

  • Secure all end caps and modules with two fixings. For each fixing, drill down to a depth of 100mm from the countersunk face
on the module. Blow out with long nose air gun. Check depth with a measuring stick.
  • Insert bold assemblies (bolt, washer and nylon fixing) and tap down lightly with hammer until 25mm above surface.
  • Tighten bolt with impact wrench or ratchet, so that washers are firmly seated on rubber base. Do not over tighten.
